Bryan (he/him) is a composer, music director, and theatre educator from Pickerington, Ohio now based in New York. His music has been performed across the US in collaboration with organizations such as American Opera Projects, New York Theatre Barn, A Little New Music, and Lincoln Center. His musical Assistants (with Respawn's Manny Hagopian) premiered Off-Broadway in 2019 after winning Best World Premiere Musical by StageScene LA and the #1 Can’t Miss Show by Time Out LA. His opera Outside (with Seth Christenfeld) premiered at NYC's historic Stonewall Inn as part of World Pride. He has been a frequent guest composer at Columbia University and was commissioned by the prestigious Collegiate School for an original orchestra and choir piece. His musical The Christmas Carols (with Emmy-nominee Kat Radley) is a perennial favorite at 54 Below.

His piano playing and arranging can be heard on cast albums for The Max Factor Factor and with pop artists such as Matthew Darren (American Idol Season 10) and Annie Brobst. His arrangements can also be heard in the films Aria for a Cow, Summoning Sylvia, and Big Easy Queens.

Bryan’s education career began at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles where he accompanied and taught Advanced Vocal Production under the mentorship of Perry Hart. He has served as a staff music director and accompanist at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy since 2012, as well as creating their New Works Series and teaching History of Musical Theatre for the Master’s Program. He now serves as their Academic Department Director of Professional Development.

Bryan is a graduate of Denison University and holds an MFA from NYU Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, he is the recipient of the Denison University President’s Medal, Distinguished Leadership Award, and the ASCAP Foundation Max Dreyfus Scholarship.
